All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions (APFTU) has demanded of the government to take necessary steps for proper safety of Wapda installations all over the country. A resolution to this effect was adopted in a meeting of the Federation held here on Tuesday. The meeting demanded that elements involved in terrorist activities must be treated with iron hands.

It also demanded of the government to increase salaries of workers and also refrain from privatising public utilities. It also demanded immediate implementation of wage board award for newspaper employees.

The meeting also decided to hold its next meeting in Lahore on February 16.
